My Daughter’s Program
Isabel Leonard sang a recital in Atlanta this afternoon which included some terrific Spanish rep and three world premieres by Jennifer Higdon, Glen Roven and Ben Moore. Here’s my daughter’s program. Notice how she drew assigned boxes in which Leonard and her pianist Vlad Iftinca should autograph, cleverly labeled ‘boy’ and ‘girl’.

Review: Atlanta Opera kicks off its season with smart, solid take on Bizet’s “Carmen”
November 12, 2012 Scott Hogsed and Melissa Shippen in Georges Bizet’s “Carmen.” (Photo by Jeff Roffman) Georges Bizet’s opéra comique “Carmen”debuted in Paris in 1875 and was considered scandalous as it presented a sexually charged heroine with questionable moral character and culminated with her onstage murder. These days it’s nearly impossible to shock…

Review: British baritone Simon Keenlyside thrills audience at Spivey Hall from www.artsatl.com
October 16, 2012 By Stephanie Adrian British baritone Simon Keenlyside and pianist Pedja Muzijevic presented an exceptional, if not mind-blowing, recital Saturday night at Clayton State University’s Spivey Hall. It was the sheer breadth of the sung poetry, as well as Keenlyside’s tremendous range of vocal color and nuance, that left one overwhelmed. Keenlyside…
